SEATTLE, Washington, February 26, 2013 – J. Craig Rusk, a noted construction law attorney and a co-managing partner with Seattle-based law firm Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP, will address the 2013 Pacific and Northwest Engineer Training Symposium on Thursday, February 28, at The Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska.

Rusk will join a panel addressing legal issues related to contracting with the federal government and the effects it has on businesses. The panel will discuss how various Government imposed requirements impact the actual structure of the business entity, the delivery of the project and the ability to get paid.  Subjects will include wage and hour regulations, licensing requirements, utilization of small and disadvantaged businesses and the Federal Acquisition Regulations.  The goal is to assist the attendees in their evaluation of the risk and rewards of government contracting.

Rusk’s law practice focuses on representation of clients involved in complex commercial enterprises, primarily construction and government procurement. He represents clients in all phases of their projects, from contract negotiation to dispute resolution. His clients include general contractors, specialty subcontractors and international engineering firms. He has represented clients in transactions with public agencies as well as numerous federal agencies and private groups. He frequently appears in state and federal courts, and represents clients in arbitration and mediation.
